Our Approach to Sustainability
Our beautifully made linen quilts & pillowcases have been designed carefully and with a focus on sustainabilty and high quality.
All of our linen is sourced sustainably and ethically from flax plants in Normandy, France. Flax is the oldest and strongest natural fibre in the world. Linen is a fabric derived from the flax plant. It is cultivated in many parts of the world, but the best flax is grown in certain parts of Europe. Our Linen is also Oeko-Tex certified. This means our flax has passed testing to show no harmful substances have been used within production. Linen production uses the whole flax plant, leaving no waste. It is fully biodegradable and can be easily recycled, making it one of the most sustainable fabrics in the world.
Across our designs we exclusively use high quality materials that have a high traceability. We take our time to create a collection and ensure all of our pieces are timeless so you can enjoy them even as trends change.
We are proud to provide products for your home that have been thoughtfully produced without the use of pesticides or harmful chemicals.
European Flax® Certification
The European Flax® certificate certifies traceability at every step of processing; from flax seed right through to the finished product. Sunday Linen certified European Flax® fibre is produced exclusively in France.
The certificate also guarantees that local farmers respect the environment and commit to zero irrigation, zero GMO and zero waste. Fibre extraction (scutching) is 100% mechanical meaning zero chemicals are used in the process.
Packaging
We're concious that when making products we choose sustainable options for their packaging. Where possible we have chosen to use packaging items that are friendly on the environment.
All of our linen quilts are packaged in a reusable linen bag and our pillowcases are packed in eco friendly tissue paper.
We have chosen to use noissue packaging products which can be recycled or composted.
